Lakewood
The following are facts. When R' Aaron established lakewood he did it for a need at the time. People there lived very simply and lived a true torah life. He himself said that it should be reevaluated in 50 years. By that time, the rabbonim were so corrupted and real estate wealthy that they were blinded by their money and continued to spew their crap about being moser nefesh for torah while the current kotler family owns real estate accross lakewood and are a very wealthy family. The system was never reevaluated and it now breeds adults who act like children. The gemarah says that a godol who is somech al shulchan aviv is a koton...... a bunch of irresponsible child-like adults.......

I just wonder where this anger comes from. I understand if you are bothered by these issues, but you are consumed by anger so you must of had some experience, but you do know you are overgenaralizing.

I dont believe that I am overgeneralizing at all. I have spent much time in that community and see that it is really crippling an entire generation by making the dependant on others for support. Every day we all get mailings asking for money for an "avreich" with 12 kids who is a "great talmid chochom" and has no money. Why does it have to be that we support them? Why cant they work and learn? Why do they have to be so irresponsible?
You make it like it's most of the people and it isn't it is some. You didnt' answer why you get so steamed up about this?
I think that what might help is if you talk to some important people and tell them your idea about re-evalution and about people working and learning. I know it might not work, but if it bothers you this much, this is something that might help
